Hi I'm Ellie

I'm a crazy Wyomin' girl who loves the wide open spaces! I've wanted to be a teacher since I was 5. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Arizona as the 6th of 7. By the time my little brother came, our 3bed 2bath wasn't cutting it, but we didn't care. We were having way too much fun and as kids, that's all that matters! My parents moved us up North where I found my love for snow! What a beautiful thing! I spent my school years trying out any instrument I could, which put me in band, orchestra and choir. I love being silly so I found myself in Drama of course, leaning the ways of the theater and finding a love for costume design and the stage. I dabbled in some art and other things as well. As graduation came around I didn't know what to do with my life. Elementary Education is probably the major of 60% of girls at my college of choice. But I didn't care. I wanted to be a teacher! When I was little I used to come home from elementary school and throw myself at the nearest white board and would pour over it and teach my little brother all I had learned. This continued over the years until he became smarter than me. It was always my deepest desire... to have a white board of my own. With expo markers in every color imaginable. Now I'm two years closer to that reality.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but that's not why I'm a member. I'm a member because my parent's taught me the importance of knowledge. Of testimony. Of truth. Growing up every morning all 9 of us would get up at 5am and have family prayer and scripture study. Though we were all half asleep and groggy, this is where the learning began. I learned what was important in life. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ must be my focus, morning, afternoon, and night. He has done so much to make it possible for me to be happy in this life and in the next. He has made it possible for me to live with my family forever. I'm so thankful for the special experiences that have led me to the knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me, and wants me to be with my family forever. That at times when I feel isolated and alone, I can feel his arms wrap around me, and he whispers that it's going to be okay. He sent his son, my brother, to make this possible. He suffered and died for me so that I may live again as he does. I know that they came to Joseph Smith, a young boy, who was searching for the truth, and answered his prayer. They brought forth the Book of Mormon through him and I have learned the truth of it through my own sincere prayer and search. It is truly another testament of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the church I constantly was learning what I could do to serve in my church. I helped in any way possible, but there has always been more I could do. I have had 4 sibling serve missions and I look up to them so much! So here I am! Serving a mission in the south! Where trees are plentiful and I suffer from a lack of snow. And yet, I'm here to serve the Lord. And that's all that matters. I want to serve my Father, and my Savior and this is the best way I know how right now. So I will serve with my whole heart and through faith share the amazing message of my Savior.
