Hi I'm Katelyn

I am a student. I served the people of El Salvador for 18 months. I am a daughter, aunt, disciple of Christ, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I decided to graduate high school a semester early because I could no longer stand the bad language and immoral acts of the students around me. At age 17 I moved from California to Salt Lake City to live with my older sister. After a few months of living with my sister I moved to Idaho to attend college. I was then prompted to serve an 18 month mission. I was called to and faithfully served in the El Salvador Santa Ana Mission for 18 months. It was the greatest decision I ever made. It changed me, strengthened my faith and gave me a better perspective on life. Because of my service I understand my purpose in life better. I understand the Atonement of Jesus Christ better. I understand that miracles are real and possible only through our faith and will to align our will with God's. I transferred schools and I am now attending one in Provo, Utah. My purpose now is live the commandments perfectly, smile all the time, and share my happiness with others through missionary work as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ my whole life. As a young child I went to church to please my parents. It was not until I turned 16 that I wanted to begin building my own testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through much contemplation, studying, and prayers I was able to gain my own testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ is His church. There have definitely been many instances in my life where I doubted my testimony because of the influence of my peers. I have learned that the easiest way to stay strong is by looking towards your future and asking yourself if your current actions will get you where you want to go in your future. This has helped me keep my hands on the iron rod and my feet on the ground. Without the Church I do not even know where I would be today. It has blessed me in ways I cannot even describe. I am grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live and show my faith by giving service to others. I participate in church callings and visiting teaching. I also live my life each day as if Jesus were standing next to me. I do things to please Him and Heavenly Father.
