Hi I'm Cathy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I believe everyone has a story and everyone has something beautiful to give to the world. I am a bit of a story collector. Stories make life interesting and help make life make sense. I love reading them and writing them and especially sharing them. I have five beautiful children (treasure troves of the delightful and shocking) and a wonderful husband who is right there in the thick of the chaos. We love to sing together, watch movies together, cook together, and read together (and the occassional indoor soccer match has been known to happen). I wouldn't trade my own story for anything.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel is everything. Knowing that I lived with my Heavenly Father before I came to this earth and that I can return to him one day with my family gives me hope on my dark and lonely days. I can return to my Father in Heaven because of His son Jesus Christ whose atonement allows me to repent and improve every day. I can get better and I can be forgiven of my mistakes and move on, leave them behind. That is such an amazing gift! I know my Heavenly Father loves me. I am His daughter. I can survive anything that can happen in this life as long as I know that.

How I live my faith

I don't have any biological sisters, but I have come to love wonderful, wonderful women whom I have met at church. They are all so different. We can share our triumphs and struggles and joys and heartaches. Knowing someone is there who is also trying to follow the path the Savior showed us is a huge strength. I love working with the youth in the church also. They are amazing. They are so capable of doing anything. It's a huge responsibility to teach them truths that will help them to be happy. Their happiness and testimonies give me hope in our future.
