Hi I'm Richard

I grew up in New Jersey. I helped provide rides for Astronauts to the Space Station. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always loved to build things and figure things out. I have been a general contractor, an engineer, and testing manager. I enjoy jeeping, boating, being outdoors and enjoying the beauties all around us. I have been happily married for over 40 years and have 4 children and 13 grandchildren. I love my family and spoiling my grandchildren. I love life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in another church and had many questions about who God really was and if he knew me. I also wondered, if he did know me, what was I supposed to be doing in my life. After learning about Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost being three distinct personages it made sense and I knew that was true. Then to find out that Prophets are on the earth today just as before and God still answers prayers was amazing and comforting to me. Because of this church I have come to know I am a child of God, I lived with God before, and came to earth to prove my worthiness to live with him again. I can be with my family forever. It has answered my questions and taught me what I need to do to return to our Heavenly Father . As with everyone I had to find out if the Book of Mormon is true. I have read it many times and taken the challenge in Moroni "to ask God, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost". My prayer has been answered each time and I know it is true. The Book of Mormon has brought me peace in this hectic world and more important than that it has brought me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know these things are true and knowing this Gospel is why I love life.

How I live my faith

My wife and I left the comforts of our home and family (13 grandchildren) to serve our Heavenly Father by serving on a mission in New York. We serve to help others anyway we can. Serve is the key word and is what I love to do. I have found if I serve anybody, it does not matter who or under what circumstances, I always feel better when I am done. This is especially true on those days when service is inconvenient or for someone you do not necessarily see eye to eye with. That's when my love increases greatly for those I am serving and I feel closer to the Savior. The Savior said "in as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren ye have done it unto me". My wife and I worked with the young adults from 18 to 30 where I helped organize dances, church speakers and many other activities. I was continually amazed at the goodness of the youth. I have served in many capacities in the church from working with scouts, youth, and all other ages. I always come away uplifted and strengthened by how good the people are. Serving is one way I live my faith.
