Hi I'm Paul

I'm a Mormon, because I have always believed in the family of God.

About Me

Who am I? Well, I'm 57 and I've been a member of the Church since 1965. I wasn't always an active member of the church though. My family fell away when I was only 15. So I spent the next 41 years as an inactive member. In 2008 after I'd figured out that I had this hole in my life that was never going to be filled, I found my spirtual awakening. I knew that my life just had to change. I told my wife that we should have the missionaries over to teach the lessons to us (and to me all over again). It was the awakening that I had been looking for. The spirit touched us both and soon, my wife and twin daughters were baptized and I recieved the Melchizadek priesthood soon thereafter. I thought that would be the end of the wonderful feelings I would have but when we went to the Temple in Boston it was like the Holy Spirit descended on my family and I in a way that changed us forever. We were married for all time and eternity and our girls were sealed to us. In the Celestial room of the Boston, Massachusetts Temple, looking into the eternity mirrors I just knew that my my life had forever changed.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have always believed in two things, even when I was inactive all those years: The eternal family and food storage. And the church teaches those two principles constantly. I believe in those bonds of eternity SO strongly that no one on this earth could make me believe otherwise. I know it is true because I have looked into my heart and by the Holy Spirit, seen the undeniable truth of it. As far as food storage goes, one time I looked beyond our borders at how many millions of hungry and starving people there were and I thought "Wow, if I could just send a box of food to some family who is hungry." I then started gathering my long term supplies and did it with a fervor. I learned all I could about food storage and how to rotate your stock and use what you had. I saved up a four year supply for my family and then started feeding missionaries out of that stockpile of food. It was then that I was also able to help others....but I was yet to have another revelation. There were millions of people in our own country, the richest country on earth, who were starving. It has become my mission to feed some of these people. My family has been very fortunate

How I live my faith

I always participate in ward activties in my branch and stake. Its fun (and a blessing) to go to baptisms and see the the look on a persons face as they come up from the water. The tears are evident in the crowd and on the face of the person just baptized. It is always a revelation to me. I'm now a member of the High Priest group in my ward. And believe me, it is a HIGH privilege to be there with men who have been Bishops and Stake High Priests. I am always humbled by that. These are men, but they are men of wisdom and knowledge of the Gospel. They are an inspiration to me and I always pray that I can be like them someday.
