Hi I'm Silas Wright

I am a missionary serving in the Virginia Chesapeake Mission. I love acting, science, math, and food! I am happy! and a Mormon

About Me

I'm a people person. The things I love involve giving others a good time. For example, I love to act. Being up on a stage preforming, showing my talent with all of my friends, gives me some of the best memories. I also love to work with technology and learning new things about computer programming. Recently, I have been called to serve in the Chesapeake Virginia Mission and I am unbelievably excited! After my mission, I will attend BYU and study Computer Engineering. My Gospel and my family have gotten me through everything in my life, and I love to preach and discuss about it to anyone interested.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has taught me from a young age what is right and wrong. However, there are just somethings you can't learn from your parents. Being in high school, I see things I wish I didn't. It gets scary. I eventually came to know that reading the Book of Mormon would really be the only thing that can let me know God speaks to His children still. I read the book, and prayed asking if it was truly written hundreds and hundreds of years ago by ancient prophets living in America, and translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I could feel an immediate peace, as if something were telling me "Yes, I am here." Times still can be trying, but because I invite the Holy Ghost in my testimony, I can always have that feeling of protection. Along with the comfortable feelings I receive in the Gospel, it is exciting to me to learn about and know the true reason the universe and everything around me came to be, which is from a loving Heavenly Father. I love learning about sciences, and knowing them as the tools God has created for us in this universe. I see science as How the universe was created, through our Heavenly Father, and religion is Why the universe is created, for us. To summarize, I am a Mormon because I believe it is true, and I will devote my life to others who were not as lucky as I was to have it since birth. People everywhere can come to feel comfortable knowing that Heavenly Father is there looking over them and can give revelation to the world through Prophets today just like in the times of the Bible. They can know that Jesus Christ lives and has suffered through any and every pain they have suffered so He can know us, and help us come to live with Him again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by putting trust in my Heavenly Father and being obedient to what he asks me to do. Every Sunday, I attend my church, and have the opportunity to bless the Sacrament (the bread and water) which gives everyone in my ward a chance to renew the covenants they have made with their Heavenly Father when they were baptized. When not in church, I hope to be an example to my friends of the joy and happiness the church can bring.
