Hi I'm Gena

I'm from Oklahoma. I'm a college student. I'm clumsy. I love junk food. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Daughter. Student. Aspiring psychologist. Sister. Aunt. Mormon. Swim-teacher. Volunteer. Oklahoman. Reader. Rock climber. Outdoors "woman". Wannabe picture taker. Baker. Friend.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has brought me such amazing joy that lasts. I'm not sure where I would be in life if I didn't have the Gospel and the truth that I have today. I'm Mormon because it is what I feel is completely right for me. I have made many mistakes, but the Gospel isn't there to bring me down, but to lift me up and tell me that it is okay and to just move forward. The Gospel is a plan of happiness, and it simply makes sense. The Book of Mormon is such a powerful tool. It doesn't contradict the Bible. It strengthens it. When I'm unhappy or struggling with something I can turn to it, and I will feel an overwhelming peace. The Gospel teaches me that I am a beloved daughter of Heavenly Father, and that I am extremely special and important to Him. It's hard to find that positive affirmation that I'm of worth anywhere else in the world. I'm Mormon because Mormonism has Christ as the central theme and focus. Mormonism gives me something to live for and something to stand up for. I'm Mormon because being a Mormon teaches me to be a better person and to do all that I can to become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith at home and at church. I'm a typical young adult who gets caught up in the world, but I'm striving to make the effort to not only be a disciple at church and on Sunday, but also at home and in my everyday life.
