Hi I'm Ashley

I grew up in Texas. I love being outside. I listen to country music. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student working towards my Bachelor's in Nursing. Every day is a balancing act between classes, friends, family, personal life and work, but I wouldn't trade it for anything! I grew up mostly in Texas, and I moved out to Utah for school. I am the oldest of 5 kids – I have 4 younger brothers, and even though sometimes they drive me crazy, I love them so much. I have the best parents in the world, I thank the Lord for them and all they have done (and still do!) for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and that knowledge has gotten me through a lot of the challenges I've seen throughout my life. He is my older Brother, and my Best Friend, and I am so thankful for His sacrifice for me. I know that families can be together forever, and this gives me great comfort. I know that if I do my part, I can live with my family for eternity! I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet who really did kneel down in prayer, asking the Father which church he should join. I know that through him, the Lord was able to restore His church. I know this gospel is true with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day – it is the little things that are what really matter. I strive to read my scriptures and pray daily, and uphold the commandments and standards the Lord has set. I also do the bigger things; every Sunday I attend church in my Young Single Adult ward (congregation), and I serve as part of an activity planning committee. Each month I visit with two other women who also attend my ward as part of the visiting teaching program. These things help reinforce my testimony, and help keep me motivated to continue doing the little, daily things.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets who lived on the American continent. These prophets were called by God to teach among their people, as well as to keep a record on brass plates. The book is named after the prophet Mormon, one of the last prophets, who compiled all of the records into one book. Show more Show less
