Hi I'm Kenneth

I'm a husband, a father, a woodworker, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very happily married to the most wonderful woman in the universe, have two energetic children, and live in beautiful Grants Pass, OR. I have an MBA and work for a community college as a training services coordinator. I also have a woodworking business on the side, which is my true passion. I love coming home after work and wrestling with my kiddos. I enjoy anything outdoors. I love to play all sports and tend to push my body to its limit. I grew up in a small town and spent several hours each day in the mountains and canyons. My dream is to be a horse rancher. My wife teases me because I have never had horses, but my great grandfather had several and was a very successful horse rancher. So I tell her, "It's in my blood". I am competitive, persistent, jovial, and love new challenges. I love spending time with my family playing games, talking, wrestling, and laughing a lot.

Why I am a Mormon

I "grew up" in the church, but I had never taken the time to know for myself if the Savior really lived and if this was His church again on the earth. One day while serving my mission for the church, I was sharing the message of the Book of Mormon with a man on his doorstep. He looked at me and asked, "How do you know it is true?" I couldn't speak because I had never really sought to know if it was or not. That night I determined to find out for myself whether or not it was true. If it was, I would continue with my mission. If it wasn't, then I would leave the mission field and resume my college studies. I prayed with more fervor that night than any other time prior to that in my life. When I asked my Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true, I felt an overwhelming peace come over me and the Spirit of the Lord poured into my heart and mind. That moment changed my life. I am a Mormon because the doctrines found in the Book of Mormon have changed my heart and brought me closer to Jesus Christ than any other book on earth. I feel my Savior's love and encouragement each time I read from those precious pages. I know He lives. I know he can heal any heart, because he has healed and changed mine. This is the only church that the Lord Himself has declared to be the "only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth, with which I, the Lord, am well pleased". What greater witness can you have than from God?

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others and opening my mouth to share the truths I have come to know. I work in an environment where my morals stand out a bit. Everyone knows I don't drink, smoke, swear, or party. I try to live as a son of God should live and be kind, forgiving, and loving to others around me. I currently serve as the Elders Quorum President in my ward, which offers many opportunities to serve the people of my ward. I live my faith by action. I also seek to build my faith by studying the scriptures daily and praying to my Heavenly Father for strength and guidance. I have come to realize that my most important calling in life is that of husband and father. My family is first in my life. I love serving my wife and children. I live my faith by standing up for what I know to be right, even when the outcome seems unfavorable in the eyes of others. I live my faith like I run a marathon: always moving forward and progressing to the ultimate goal.
