Hi I'm Jacob

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of six; I have four younger brothers and one younger sister. I love to read books, work out, listen to music, eat, and lots of other things. So far I've completed a year of college at Brigham Young University. I recently received a call to serve in the Japan Kobe mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for two years.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or "Mormon church," but became unsure of its truth as I grew older... Everyone has to come to a knowledge of the truth by their own choice and actions. I struggled to live by the teachings of the Church, and began to spiritually drift away as I became involved in habits out of line with the Gospel during my high school years. Even at that time, I had a basic testimony of the truth of the Gospel from previous experiences with prayer and the Holy Spirit. I was tortured by the knowledge that I was in certain ways living a contradiction. I immersed myself in scripture study, prayer, and in the Gospel as a whole, and began the process of repentance after meeting with my bishop. As I learned more about my Savior Jesus Christ and His atonement, and as the Holy Spirit entered my life, I came to a sure knowledge of the truth of this church. It truly is the full and restored Gospel through which we are drawn to Christ and are able to be forgiven, made whole, progress, and have eternal happiness. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying, studying the scriptures daily, attending church meetings, and trying in all ways to improve and be the best me. I want to live my life in such a way that I can be an instrument in the hands of God. I recently have served as a Sunday school teacher and a Boy Scouts leader for the 11-year-olds in my ward. I have enjoyed teaching these kids from the scriptures on Sundays and helping them to learn new skills on Wednesday evenings. Most notably, I'm sacrificing two years to serve a full time mission in Kobe, Japan, where I will serve, preach, and bring people unto Christ.
