Hi I'm D'Lonna Nelson

I live in a man's world. Born to a man with no sisters, grew with 4 brothers, now I have 4 boys of my own, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I live in a man's world. Born to a man who had no sisters, grew up in a house with 4 brothers, and now I have 4 boys of my own. I defiantly have lived my life with snips and snails and puppy dog tails. Good thing I love sports. My Saturdays consist of being on the fields whether soccer, baseball, or football. To keep up with my active kids, I have picked up running. I have trained and run a marathon. Half marathons are my favorite. I love the sweet victory of crossing the finish line after months of training. With so many active boys, I constantly hear the phrase, "I am hungry". Good thing I love to cook. I am constantly trying new recipes and experimenting. I am always in search of healthy, good recipes. We love our sweets too! Don't get me wrong, my favorite color is pink and I love all things girlie, but I love this life of being surround by men and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the peace that can be found in our gospel teachings! WIth day to day craziness, I can feel so overwhelmed, but when I have taken time to read my scriptures, listen to a talk from our church leaders, and/or pray, I felt the comfort, peace, and direction of my Heavenly Father. I cannot imagine making life's big decisions like where to live, what job to take, or how to be a good mother to each one of my boys individually without the Holy Ghost giving me direction. Heavenly Father can see the whole picture of my life when I seem to only focus on the now. I love that I can be an eternal family! My husband and 4 boys are the best gift I have ever been given. Even if death came early for one of us, I know that we will be together again. I know that we will be able to be with our Heavenly Father as a family.

How I live my faith

I have always loved working with children and youth. Before I had children, I taught fifth grade. I love seeing the spark in each child's eyes especially as he/she learns something hard. Even as a stay at home mother to 4 active boys, I find opportunities to influence children whether volunteering at the schools, helping on the soccer field, or being in charge of the children ages 18 months to 11 years old at church. My main focus with each child I work with is to make sure they realize their worth. I want them to each know that they are loved by Heavenly Father who wants the best for them. They need to be taught that even mistakes and challenges happen, but through Jesus Christ we can be forgiven and find comfort.
