Hi I'm Alissa Anderson

I am a college student who loves riding horses, playing guitar, soccer, hiking and trips to the beach. I AM A MORMON!!! :D

About Me

I am an animal person :) I am a dog trainer at Petsmart and occasionally do horse training on the side. I love horseback riding, soccer, guitar, and long days at the beach. I am a college student who is majoring in communications. I chose to major in communications because I have learned and experienced first hand how having good communications skills can bring your family closer together and tell the people you care about how much you truly love them. I am a future sister missionary called to serve in the Singapore mission :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this is the only faith where love exists in the beginning the middle and the end. I know that because I have a testimony of the Plan of Salvation. I know that I have a Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother who love me. I know that they love me because the gave up their only begotten son, to die for me and my sins, because of that if I chose to live abiding by God and the blessings and opportunities he has given me, then I can return to live with them again. I know Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God who was able to restore the Gospel in these the Latter Days. I know because I felt just as confused and determined to know the truth and when reading his record of witnessing the Father and the Son I could feel the spirit stirring in my heart that this was a real and true event. I have a testimony of the book of Mormon because it gives me inspiration and guidance when I feel the pressures of the world around me. I know it is true because all of it teachings have only brought me peace and happiness in my life. I am a Mormon because I know that through faith and practice my family can be sealed for time and all eternity and we can live in love forever.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith by listening to promptings I receive from God. I do that through many different things. Maybe that means listening to an associate or a customers concerns at work. Many times, when I am taking break or getting ready to go home I find myself spending extra time just to listen to a person share their appreciation of their pets in their lives. Although I sometimes feel I have more important things to do I know it is important to take the time to listen to others around me because doing things like that help us grow together as a community. Maybe it means teaching a child. I have had callings in the church where I have taught children about God my favorite teaching moments are the ones where I can teach them the difference between hate and love. I was playing with a small child and as he began to have more fun he would come over and try to hit me to provoke me to play with him more, I told him that when he hit me it hurt my feelings and it did not make me want to play with him, so instead he began to ask me using the word please to come play. So we did. Moments like that help me remember how important it is to teach God's children. Sometimes living in faith means picking the ugly shirt because it is the only shirt that keeps me modest. I want to be modest because I want people to know that I respect my body and I want to save it for somebody special. It is through small and simple things I chose to live my faith 3
