Hi I'm Anthony

I grew up a military brat, I have a blended accent. I work contract work for a Xerox agency, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of two; our son is two years older than our daughter. I've been married 4 years now to an ASL interpreter (but we were high school sweethearts 10 years ago) and I still don't know ASL well enough to communicate with it above the most basic of levels. I eat, sleep, and breathe V8 engines. I have an old LTD that has never hit the 100K mark, and baby it to death. I am in love with Ford, and I've been driving them since I was 14. (North Dakota had lower license/permit age laws back then). I am a network and software analyst. When new Xerox equipment is sold by the agency I work with; it's my job to set up the networking and software solutions at the end-user to make it all come together. I am a twin, but the oldest of 3 as I bested my brother by one minute coming into this world. I was a military brat, was raised in North Dakota, but I was born in Idaho. I was raised as a Mormon, and ironically served a mission in my home state of Idaho. I have a unique accent as it borrows words, phrases, and vowel emphasis from each of the places I've lived; especially rural Idaho, and northern North Dakota. Some of my favorite past times are mowing the lawn, working on my LTD, watching movies, and hanging out with my wife and kids on the weekends.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was raised in the church. However, I am still an actively practicing member because of the blessing it has been in my life. As Mormon's we believe that our families can be 'sealed' together for all of eternity. I've known my wife since my senior year in 2001/02. I spent several years separated from her because of different choices in careers and education. Our marriage is one of an almost fairytale reunion, but I can't imagine ever being without her again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by active participation in my calling (responsibility) at church. I served a mission for two years in my home state of Idaho in the Boise mission. I served from 2003-2005. I was 'sealed' (marriage) to my wife for time and all eternity in the Nauvoo, IL temple in May of 2008. We still attend our weekly meetings, and try be positive examples, and influences to those around us.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Anthony
To better balance the membership of the church it is broken down into wards/branches and stakes/districts. The later part of each represents the smaller groups. The wards and branches are immediately local congregations that each have their own leadership organization. The purpose of these wards is for fellowship of individuals and families in the surrounding community. The stake and district organizations are a compilation of wards and branches that assemble into larger groups and each stake or district also has a leadership organization that oversees the operations of the wards and branches under it. The boundaries are drawn for each stake/district by the amount of membership that lives in that area. The wards and branches are then subdivided further to better manage travel to a local meeting house, and balance of membership population. The organization is designed for maximum reach and fellowship ability, and each of the members greatly benefit from the planning of those boundaries. Show more Show less
