Hi I'm Pam

I'm a Mormon. I live in Central Florida with my husband of almost 28 years, 6 children, and 8 granchildren with 1 on the way!

About Me

I have homeschooled 4 of our 6 children. This is a wonderful experience that has helped me to know my children a little better and to teach them what I choose to have them learn in this very disturbing world that we live in. This also gives me the opportunity to remember my years in school or to learn new things that have occurred since then.

Why I am a Mormon

I was 11 years old when my parents found the church and we were taught by the 2 young missionaries that were sent to our home by my oldest brother. I had the opportunity to attend Primary for about 3 months before I turned 12 and went into the Young Women's Program. This is where I learned about my Heavenly Father and His love for me. I had many opportunities to learn and to grow in the gospel and have many wonderful experiences that helped me to know of its TRUTHFULNESS! One summer when I was 15 I was able to save money from babysitting to pay for a Youth trip to New York and visit the church history site's. One place that I hold dear to my heart was being able to walk in the Sacred Grove. This is where Joseph Smith received confirmation from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that the True church was not found on the earth. Through the Prophet Joseph Smith and his continual FAITH, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was restored. He endured so many hardships in his life and never once did he deny what he had seen and heard. The Sacred Grove and this trip was the turning point for me, and the beginning of my testimony. I had many wonderful opportunities to serve others and see their smiling faces when I gave of myself. This is what our Savior teaches us in the scriptures to always be serving his sheep. As I grow in years, that is what I try to teach my children that serving others is what we should be about. To help lift the cares of others and put a smile where sadness once was. There is a living Prophet on the earth today. His name is President Thomas S. Monson, he speaks to our Heavenly Father for each of us continually and lets us know of the things that we should be doing in order to return home to Him one day. The gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only gospel on the face of the earth that has the fullness of all that Jesus taught when He lived on the earth. The priesthood that has been restored has the ability to bless our lives.

How I live my faith

I have served in the church with the children under 11, and to see their smiling faces when they begin to realize that they have a Heavenly Father who loves them and always wants what is best for them and to bless them when they choose the right. These little people are so smart and understand more than we adults can begin to comprehend. I have also served with the youth 11 - 18, this group of young people are a shining example to me and the world that morality and modesty are not something that has been done away with. They have a firm grasp of the gospel and know that they are a Son or Daughter of God. They stand up for their beliefs and share them with their friends and do not fear that they will be criticized. They perform service for others without complaint. I know serve with the Women 19 and older. This is my opportunity to help them to see the things that will encourage and help them and their families to come closer to the Savior. I have learned that as adults we tend to need a little more reminding of the things that we should be doing, as the world would have us turn our heads in other directions. We have the opportunity each month to go and visit or make contact with the women that have been placed in our care. The women that I have the opportunity to serve with and in behalf of are ever learning and teaching each other. They share life experiences that help us to see that there is a Father in Heaven and He loves us. We also have get togethers where we learn new things and socialize and have fun with each other. There are opportunities to serve others such as: moving, cleaning, food when someone has a need (compassionate service) or whatever may come about. This is an organization that will guide all women to be better and to alway look towards the Savior and His examples, and then to follow them to the BEST OF HER ABILITY!
