Hi I'm Dylan Draper

I'm from THE Colorado Springs, CO. I love to Scuba Dive and play football. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have red hair. Oranges are my favorite fruit. I enjoy driving through the Colorado Rockies. I was a cadet at the Air Force Academy and am currently serving as a missionary in the Washington DC North Mission, Spanish Speaking :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church and have seen the blessings of the Gospel in my own life and my own family. I'm a Mormon because I've become closer to Jesus Christ though the ordinances, covenants, teachings and doctrines found only in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm a Mormon because of my testimony of the Book of Mormon. I also have a very strong testimony of the Word of Wisdom and have personally seen what a blessing it really is. I am a Mormon because of the living prophets and apostles that direct the church and know that they are inspired because when I heed their counsel I am a happier person. I am a Mormom because I know that the teachings of the Gospel strengthen families and give families the chance to be eternal. Above all I am a member of the church because it makes me happy. I may not have all the answers but I have enough. I know that one of the reasons we are on earth is to have joy and being a Mormon helps me to do that :)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the things that the Lord has commanded us to do to the best of my ability. I live my faith by living what I believe out of love for God rather than the approval of peers. I live my faith by seeking counsel from the Lord in the decisions I make and giving gratitude to Him for my health, family, and circumstances that I enjoy. I live my faith by sharing the truths of the Gospel with others and doing my best to not judge others for the way they live. I live my faith by reading from the scriptures everyday. I really try to follow Jesus by serving others and trying to make other people's lives happier in whatever small ways I can.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Dylan Draper
People call Mormonism a cult because they are either uninformed or have negative feelings toward the church. At times the term "cult" is used because of doctrines found in Mormonism that people find strange or different. Other times it is used to tear down the Church. Often times in both cases people don't understand or don't want to understand the motives behind what the Church is on the Earth to do, which is to bring people unto Christ. People can be caught up in other details or feelings that detract from a genuine understanding of our beliefs and practices. First-hand relationships with members often help in molding a better understanding of the Church because it gives people the chance to see the results, or "fruits", that the Church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ yield. Those "fruits" include the lives that committed members live and devotion to following Jesus Christ, the strength of their families, and the happiness they enjoy. Show more Show less
