Hi I'm Laurel

I'm a mom, a teacher, and a librarian. I'm grateful to be a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. I have five children and thirteen grandchildren: nine precious girls and four handsome boys. I like to do "projects" with them. I have taught first grade, music and the gifted and talented program. I enjoyed homeschooling my own children and teaching others in our community as well. Things that I enjoy doing are reading, sewing, crocheting, painting, writing and doing genealogy.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a child of eleven years old, my father passed away while we were living in Hawaii. I was heartbroken, yet I learned then of the comforting hand of the Lord and the reassurance that prayer can bring. This was the start of my deep belief in the gospel and its teachings. I am grateful for the power of prayer in my life and for the atonement of the Savior that strengthens my faith and understanding of the gospel. I am grateful for eternal families and the love and support they give.

How I live my faith

I have worked in many church organizations including those for children, youth and adults. I have enjoyed teaching the little two and three year old children and seeing them respond to the scripture stories and activities. I relish the challenge of youth and adult gospel classes. Music is a great teacher and I love to sing in the choir, in our meetings, and with the children. Now I am working with the youth who are an amazingly awesome part of my life and learning.
