Hi I'm Carson

I'm a marathon runner, inventor, and student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah as the oldest of 5 kids. Being a big brother is a lot of stress but a great chance to set a good example. This is one of the reasons I'm currently serving a mission and helping bring others to closer to Christ. Before my mission I went to a few years at college studying engineering and electricity. I decided on engineering because I enjoy making things. Anything. From food and cooking, to buidling cars and making music. I've played the piano since I was 8 and since have picked up the guitar, saxophone, and even a little drumming. My life's pretty good I say!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in the church that's definitely not why I'm still here. While preparing to go on a mission I had to come to my own understanding of what Heavenly Father wanted me to do with my life. Most of my friends are also Mormon and had since left on missions of their own. It was at this time in my life where things started falling apart and where I needed Christ more than ever. Through study of the Book of Mormon, praying and going to church I got the answer that God did want me to go on a mission. The next few months were some of the toughest in my life, but God helped me through and I was able to come to the realization of his love for all of His children. Even me. He didn't leave me as I tried to find Him. Since then my testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has continued to grow. The more I study, the more things fit together and the firmer I know that this is Christ's church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to help others with as much strength as I can muster. As a missionary we have a rigorous, non-stop, untraditional schedule that most people's bodies don't agree with, mine included. Not everybody has the chance to serve 2 years of their life doing nothing but helping others come unto Christ. Its tough, but I've grown so much closer to our Savior and have the chance to focus on becoming the kind of person, husband, and father that I want to be. After my service as a full-time missionary is through, I will continue my schooling while serving in other positions in the church. Eventually I will find a wife and be married to her forever in the temple and begin raising my own family according to the values I've learned. Then I will serve where I'm asked to serve and continue faithful until the end!

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

We believe in the Bible because it is a true account that tells us of God's work with His people, testifies of His Son: Jesus Christ, and shows us how we should live if we want to be like Him. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that ultimately, it is by grace that we are saved. Nothing we could do in this life can buy us salvation. It is only through Christ that salvation is made possible. However, this doesn't mean that we can do anything we want and be saved. To fully take advantage of Christ's sacrifice for us, we must do our best to follow him and become the best we possibly can. This requires both faith and works unto repentance. When we repent we fulfill what Christ has asked us to do and the negative consequences for our personal sins and mistakes are taken by Him. By doing this we become clean, allowing us to return again to live in the presence of God. Grace. Show more Show less
