Hi I'm Clark

I'm preparing to serve a mission. I'm a student at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my freshman year at Brigham Young University. I'm majoring in math and currently plan on getting a PhD and becoming a professor. During my last week in school I was called to serve as a missionary in the Mexico Tuxtla Gutierrez Mission. I love to play sports, especially baseball and football. I swam competitively in high school until I tore a ligament in my shoulder. I'm currently in the Missionary Training Center, learning to preach the gospel in Spanish. And I'm loving life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and thanks to my parents have been attending ever since I was a few weeks old. I was baptized when I was eight and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. On that occasion a felt a special peace, as I had never felt before. I depended on this testament and on my parents strength for several years. However when I was twelve I had the opportunity to sing in a choir celebrating the life and ministry of the prophet Joseph Smith. While singing our final hymn, Praise to the Man, I received a witness that Joseph truly was the prophet of the restoration and that he truly had seen God the Father and Jesus Christ. Since that day, I have never denied that truth. Through the experiences of my life, my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been strengthened. Today I know that Jesus Christ lives, and that he is the Savior of the World. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it was translated by the power of God according to his will. I know that we have prophets today, and that Thomas S. Monson is every bit as much a prophet as Moses, Abraham or any other man who has ever lived. I know the church is true, and I want the world to know it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in everything I do. Borrowing a quote, I try to "preach the gospel always, and if necessary, use words." By striving to live the commandments I, in part, fulfill the Savior words in being a light to the world. This August I started a two year mission in Mexico to preach the gospel. Serving a mission is a commandment for all able young men, and I love the opportunity to do the work of the Lord. I spend all day everyday studying, teaching, serving, and otherwise helping others and I absolutely love it!
