Hi I'm Courtney

I'm a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a teacher. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in beautiful Southern Utah surrounded by the variety of God's creations. I went to school and then became a teacher. I love to travel to new places and visit historical sites and buildings. I love United States history, especially the Founding of America, science, reading, talking, laughing, eating, playing, and learning. I love my family and being the favorite aunt. I love spending time with family and friends. Though I'm not very good, I play the piano because I think it is fun. When I drive on long trips by myself, I sing at the top of my lungs and dance to make the time pass more quickly. Actually, I do this any time I am in the car by myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I can't think of anything else that could bring me the peace or joy that comes from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that when I keep the commandments and follow Christ's teachings I am happier and I have a more sure purpose for my life. I receive peace from knowing a loving Heavenly Father has a plan for me. He knows me and loves beyond measure and has sent me here so that I may learn and grow and become more like He is. He hears and answers my prayers and is there to bless me immediately, even though I probably don't deserve it. I take comfort in the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ and that a way has been provided for me and those I love to return to be with our Heavenly Father, no matter how many mistakes we make or how imperfect we are. I'm a Mormon because through Jesus Christ I can change and become a better version of me. I know of my divine nature, worth, and purpose through the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm a Mormon because through the Gospel I can be with my family forever. I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by following the commandments and treating those around me as they are, children of our Heavenly Father who loves them, my brothers and sisters. I try to be a good example to my students of the happiness that can be found in living the commandments and teachings of Jesus Christ. In my congregation, or ward, I help organize women as visiting teachers to other women in the ward. I help them visit and meet the needs of the women they are assigned to. I enjoy being a visiting teacher myself because I get to become friends with the women I visit and I also get to serve them and grow to love them. I've met some of my closest friends through visiting teaching.
