Hi I'm Lizzie

I'm a runner, a dancer, and a second grade teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently finished my bachelor degree in elementary education and will begin my first year teaching second grade in the fall. I've been married for almost a year and have loved every second of being a "newlywed." I love to run, rock climb, hike, swim, try new recipes, watch good movies, and spend time with my wonderful husband and fabulous family. My favorite thing in the world is a good, long ballet class. I teach dance classes to darling kids ages 3 to 11 and work as a server at a local dessert cafe.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; I was baptized, per usual, at age eight and remember having "family home evening," scripture study, and family prayer often. I was taught by the examples of my parents to seek out good things--activities, friends, classes, and goals--and was pushed to accomplish all those things I was capable of. My parents drove it into me that I was to be "the example" in all things good for my four younger sisters, and because of the trust they had in me I took the role as an older sister seriously and tried to be the kind of person my siblings could look up to. I participated in all the Church capacities offered growing up; from primary as child, to Young Women's a a youth, and finally as a member of Relief Society once I graduated from high school. The support and "safety net" the Church brought me was always a driving force of my membership in younger years; however, I remember the fundamental years in my life when I truly gained a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. That's when my membership in this Church changed from something that helped my life to the most absolutely essential part of my happiness. I know the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is on earth today and it is taught through modern day revelation by the prophet and apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know the gospel was restored by Joseph Smith, a prophet, who saw God and Jesus Christ and spoke with them face-to-face. I know the Book of Mormon and Bible are both words from God and that we will find happiness, peace, and security through reading the words we find there. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and through Him I can be saved, have eternal life, and live with my family forever if I will keep the commandments He gives for my protection.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I serve in the primary. I have the opportunity to work with sweet little children who teach me so much about pure love and faith through their examples. I try and serve members of my community as they need it and develop charity for those around me as Christ would do if He were on earth today.
