Hi I'm Rachel

I am the wife of a college student and a new mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Rachel and I love life! I am a recent college graduate, married to a current college student, and I'm a new mom, making every day a new adventure. My husband and daughter are the loves of my life and I am so happy to be sealed to them for eternity. My husband and I enjoy camping, fishing, reading, playing games, and watching movies together. Both of us come from large families who we love to spend time with. Our daughter is lucky to have almost 30 cousins! Some of my personal hobbies include music (I play the piano, ukulele, and guitar), reading, crocheting, and being outside. I am a certified teacher with a degree in elementary education, but my real dream job is being a stay-at-home mom.

Why I am a Mormon

Every day that I'm alive I am reminded that God lives and that He loves me. He truly is my Heavenly Father. I see His hand in everything good and I feel His gentle guidance daily. I have a firm testimony in the power and reality of prayer. I know that God hears and answers our prayers, no matter how small and insignificant we may think them to be. He loves us and wants to bless us. I have learned this for myself by testing it out--by praying to receive confirmation of truths, for daily guidance and direction, for blessings, protection, and health. I have felt the power of the Holy Ghost many, many times and through it have received a personal witness of the truth and divinity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that anyone who sincerely seeks the truth will be given this same witness. I know that through obedience to the Gospel and through the infinite atonement of our Savior, everyone can receive the gift of immortality and eternal life with our Heavenly Father. I know that family is ordained of God and that we can be with our families for eternity. I have felt the power of the temple and I know that I will be with my husband and children for much longer than this life. I know that we have a living prophet who is called of God to lead and guide us in our day, and that we are blessed for our obedience to his words. I have no doubt that God is our Father, that He loves His children, and that He has provided a way back to Him. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have read The Book of Mormon and received a witness of its truthfulness through prayer. This Church contains the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and will help me to return to live with Him again.

How I live my faith

The Lord taught us to "love thy neighbor as thyself," (Matthew 22:39) so I try to live my faith by serving those around me. I do this by being a friend to others, by serving in my church, and by taking time to visit women in my neighborhood. I attend church weekly and participate in classes and meetings to strengthen my testimony and share my beliefs with others. I try to be an example of the Savior in all that I do and say, and to follow what I know and believe at all times, not just on Sunday. Although I still have much room for improvement, I live my faith by striving to be a little better each day.
