Hi I'm Jake

I grew up in Utah. I enjoy running, playing the piano, the tuba, and just spending time outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was 3 years old I became deathly ill with meningitis. I almost didn't make it, but the prayers and fasting of my family and friends helped me get through it. I had to re-learn how to walk and talk after the recovery. I graduated from Morgan High School just over two years ago, and I was on the track and cross-country team. I also played the tuba in the high school band. I was a member of the National Honor Society during my high school years. I also liked to play the piano. I was studying Engineering Technology right before I went on a mission, and I want to become a drafter. The summer of 2012 I worked for Camp Hunt. It is right next to Bear Lake in Utah, and close to the Utah-Idaho border. That was a lot of fun. I was able to make a lot of new friends. Right now I am enjoying being able to serve the Lord for 2 years on an LDS (Latter Day Saint) mission. I have served in the Los Gatos, San Lorenzo Valley, Dry Creek, and Cherry Glen Wards. As well as the Alma Branch. I have enjoyed so much the opportunity to serve the Lord this past year and to invite others to come unto Him. I know that through the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ one can gain true, everlasting, eternal happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family. So from the time I was little I was taught to go to church, read my scriptures, and say my prayers, and those things are what I have done throughout my whole life. My parents have done a great job of doing their part and teaching the Gospel. I am so grateful for loving parents. It is up to me to apply those things that I have learned into my life and keep applying them. I have come to know for myself that this church is true, because I have prayed to God and He has manifested the truth of this Gospel and this church to me. I have also seen many miracles in my life that makes me believe in this Church with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I enjoy living my faith. I always enjoy going to church and learning more about the Gospel. I also love helping out or serving others when I have the chance. That is something that we do a lot in our religion. There are a couple of elderly widows that live across the street from me, and it always makes me feel good when I go over there and serve them by working on their yard or shoveling their driveway. I have always tried to magnify my callings I have had, and tried to do the best I can in whatever callings I am called to. I have had a few callings where I had the opportunity to invite less active members or non-members around my age to come to church and to church activities with the young men in our ward. I enjoyed having those callings. Now I have the calling of being a full-time missionary in the California San Jose Mission. I love it so much and the people as well, and desire so much for their salvation.
