Hi I'm Tyler

I love the organ, writing, friends, and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I run in Cross-Country and Track and Field, play many sports with my family exclusively (such as Tennis and Ultimate), play the organ, piano, and trombone, draw pictures and I love hugs. I grew up in a small town and I don't really plan on moving. I love my momma too much. My ultimate goal is to succeed in a music career. That or go para sailing at least once.

Why I am a Mormon

I've found in my years of life experience that the best feelings of happiness come when I make good choices. The church is the only thing found on this whole Earth that commands that these good choices are made, and is the only thing that can provide great blessings that accompany these choices. This may seem like simple Mormon Math to some, but for me, it is a drive to endure to the end. A wise person said to me that I should choose my actions by consequence. Translation: I should choose actions that I'd be happiest with down the road. And I know that only the choices that the church commands us to make will make me happiest, down the road and throughout eternity. I'm Tyler, I choose by consequence, and I'm still a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In my congregation, there is a great fellowship felt. Everyone knows everyone, and if there's someone you don't know, you'll get to know them soon. The organization of youth in our congregation is very close-knit. I have the opportunity to lead the young men ages 14-15 in that organization. We plan activities every week that are spiritual, service-oriented, and fun! I am also a home teacher and, as you may have guessed, one of the many ward organists. I am kept busy by my responsibilities in this church, but that doesn't mean that it's not a joyful experience. I am surrounded by people I know and love, and serving the Lord and doing His work in His church is more than a motivation, it's a reason to live.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

When we are born, we are brought right into a new family. This connection known as "family" between parents and children, brothers and sisters is more than a social acquaintance, it is a binding tie that should bring hope and love toward each other. Imagine if from the time we were young to when we grew elderly, we had to fend for ourselves, everyone. It would sure be a test, but would we grow? Together? No! I know that families are essential in this life and forever; and, just as we are part of His family, we are part of an earthly one of our own that He has sent us to. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Lectures on Faith is a great read, and I highly recommend it for anyone reading this. God is a supreme and constant being; those qualities make Him the absolute person we should look to with faith. Have faith in Him always, even in hardships and frustrations. Those difficulties don't last long, but if they do, they never last as long as eternity. Eternal life is what He's promised us if we follow Him in faith. Show more Show less
