Hi I'm Conor

I'm a truth seeker, who loves asking questions. I speak Lithuanian. I love pop culture. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student, studying English and political science at Brigham Young University. I plan on going to graduate school to become an English professor. I love to run, read, write, listen to and play music. I served a mission in Lithuania and love all that is connected with that magical land. I enjoy learning and finding Gospel truths taught in pop culture, it's what some have termed my 'gift.' I love searching for truth and puzzling through ambiguities and complexities to find what I feel is the truth.

Why I am a Mormon

After going through a period of questioning and doubting, I was reading the Book of Mormon and decided to find out if God was real and if He was, if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was His church. I followed the counsel given at the end of the Book of Mormon, to ponder and after pondering to ask God, in the name of Christ if the book is true. I did. First praying to know if God loved me. As I pled, I felt an enveloping warmth, that I can only describe as the love of God, confirming that God's alive and loves all of us. I then asked if the Book of Mormon was His word, given to man to help them draw closer to Him. That warm enveloping feeling of God's love stayed, signaling to me that the Book of Mormon is His word. As I continue in Mormonism, I continue to have that love reaffirmed through various experiences where I've felt the divine, often in service for others, feeling that strength from heaven channeled through me. Films, music, and literature all serve as further confirmations of truths, forming a great whole, bringing me closer to Christ, my Savior and Friend.

How I live my faith

I read and study the doctrine and strive to help others learn and live more fulfilling lives. I constantly work to better my understanding and to find answers to my countless questions. I search for further understanding wherever it may be found. I seek guidance from God in my life, trying to live to feel His love and influence to help me live the way I should. While I don't have all the answers, what I know is enough to keep me pushing forward.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Short answer: No. We believe that Joseph Smith was a Prophet, who played a key role in restoring God's authority and fullness of the Gospel. For that, we hold Joseph Smith in great esteem and appreciate the great gift that we have in part due to his willingness to ask God what should be done and to accomplish the will of the Lord.
