Hi I'm Aaron Waters

I am from the state of Idaho and served a mission in Puerto Rico!!! I love the outdoors and am a really random person.

About Me

I grew up in the town of Blackfoot Idaho. I didn't grow up on a farm but we have a couple of horses and cattle and I've always enjoyed being outdoors. I am attending college and going for a degree in accounting with a minor in Finance or thinking of going into international business. I was a missionary in the great island of Puerto Rico and miss the warm weather there. My major hobbies are shooting, motorcycling, fishing, golfing, and anything to do with the outdoors. When I was 7 I was diagnosed with type one diabetes.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I know its true and i've seen the blessings i have recieved. I had doubts growing up of the church and then the one day i just decided to start reading the book of mormon as i read i just got more and more into it until i finished and i asked if the book was true and i recieved a feeling that i can't even describe but i know its true and thats why i'm a mormon cuz i know that Jesus is the Christ and this is his church. Even after I had my first assurance that the church was true I had to keep growing and gaining a better understanding of the church. This was due to the encouragement of friends and family. When I was 19 I was starting my plans to go on a mission and started the paperwork to go. For part of the paperwork for a missionary you must give a detailed summery of your medical records and I am type one diabetic. For me to be able to serve a mission I had to have a certain average for my blood sugars to turn in my papers. After much hard work and determination I thought the test would come back at the rate they advised. To my disappointment I didn't pass the test and I even had thoughts of not serving a mission but decided to ponder and pray on this and had a feeling to keep trying and within one more month I was down to the needed average blood sugar to serve a mission. For many years in my life I thought that Diabetes was a punishment but I have learned that it is a way for me to rely on the Savior to help me through hard times and I can see his hand in my life as I trust in him in all my needs especially in my health. He truly does care and understand our needs and struggles.

How I live my faith

I currently am serving as a Sunday School teacher and I teach the 14 and 15 year old youth and its a blast. I also work with the young men in their programs to help them to understand the gospel better and prepare to meet the struggles we face in life. I served a mission in the Puerto Rico San Juan mission and that helped me to become a better person and have a lot stronger faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. As a personal goal i try and read the scriptures daily and find one thing to change daily in my life to become more like Jesus Christ.

What is being a Mormon like?

Aaron Waters
It is not just a religion or a belief but a way of living. The way of being a mormon is to try and do your best and then when we fall short to rely on God and Jesus Christ to help us to become better people. Our lives involve listening to a living prophet that helps us get through the every day challenges of life and to give us the advice that Christ would if he was upon the earth today. Just as everyone we all have our difficulties and problems and are not perfect but we strive to be better people and contribute to helping others also. Show more Show less
