Hi I'm Nessa

I come from a family full of girls. I'm studying biology. I love to dance. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love dancing and performing. Most of my childhood I spent focused on becoming a professional ballerina. When I was 10 I got Lymes disease. Though it was tough I never quit dancing because of my love for the art. I'm studying biology, I hope to be a phycisians assistant so that I can help kids gain the determination to keep going just like many did for me. I love being active, eating healthy and just having a good time with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the faith. That is why I'm a mormon. I know that God was with me throughout my childhood. I felt His love daily for me and my sweet family. But when I left home for college I began to feel that the church's standards would hold me back from many of my aspirations and goals. I slowly separated myself from certain things of "mormon life". I didn't understand why certain things in my life began to fall apart or why I was always unsettled with the career choices I was making. I simply did not want some of the things that the church had to offer. On one of my lowest days I was talking to my dear sweet mom. She asked me when the last time I had prayed or had read my scriptures. It had been a long time! At first I was irratated and thought "What good will that do!" But a few weeks later my attitude changed to "What can it hurt?" I began to read and to pray like I grew up doing. I felt the same love that I had often felt during my sickness. I knew that the book of Mormon was true and that I needed to more fully follow the prophets counsel. I began to pray for direction in life. Where I should be and what I should be doing. A prompting kept coming and coming. I did not want to listen. I was not in the right place to follow it. I knew I needed to serve a mission and share with others the things that meant so much to me. I am now serving in the Colorado, Colorado Springs Mission. It has been the best thing that ever happened to me. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that it was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, only because Heavenly Father

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the little things: daily scripture study, prayer and going to church. Simply letting God take me and shape me into who I need to be to help others along their journey through life. Family is a huge part of my faith. I know that if it wasn't for them I would not be active at this time. It's through helping those that need us most that our own faith is strengthened. I know that I have seen that time and time again.
