Hi I'm Tamiko Rafeek.

I'm a Mormon. I love the gospel and the church. I'm a deaf single mother of two young girls.

About Me

I grew up here in Tucson since I was five. I knew something was missing in my life but I did not know what it was. Two missionaries came to my home and I got baptizied a month later. I just knew this gospel and the church are true. I build my testimony with my learning. I love my deaf branch so much that they have shown their passion, patience, and most loving to care about me and my two preschool girls. I have learned so much from them. I began to do my genealogy work which I have done some since I was about 12 after my grandmother gave and passed down her legacy to me of her family tree. She wanted me to make a promise that I must do the genealogy for our future generation. Not only that genealogy, my short story with a poem about God's Holy Temple in 1995 when I was about 25 years old I have not gone to any church when I was seeking for something that was missing from my life that I knew I must have existed somewhere. I went to few churches for few years and I stopped going to any church. I have searched for truth in the stars every night asking for his help. Lo and behold, I have found my truth. God's Holy Temple...how ironic and amazing to know this gospel has led me to this. I am truly thankful for this. I am only a member of this church in my family. I hope one day they will see my light.

Why I am a Mormon

My two young girls fell in love with primary songs. They beg me to continue coming to this church. I saw their happiness inspiring me to keep a happy family together. My love for them continue to grow stronger and better everyday. I am thankful to my girls. They are very bright and intellingence. They are only 5 and 3. They know some stories in the Book of Mormon. They truly love this book so much. We continue to build our faith, our love, and our hope to enter celestial kingdom soon.

How I live my faith

Read the scriptures daily. Do twice FHE with your family a week. Watch BYU-TV as much as you can. Read the Book of Mormon with your children morning and night everyday. You will be amazed of how much you have learned so much. It is like you have become so familiar with it and still learn more everyday. It is so wonderful and beautiful gospel. Just have a huge faith in Jesus Christ and LEARN from him. The more you know the more you gain your understanding to adjust your life better and ready for his Second Coming.
