Hi I'm Jim

I've lived all over the United States, and am now in college studying economics. I love to play sports, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports, and I love being outdoors. Anything from frisbee, volleyball, dirt-biking or snowboarding and I'm there. I'm going to college studying Economics with a minor in Math and Business. I've lived in California, Illionois, Arizone, Utah, New Jersey and Washington and love to see new places. I always enjoy reading a good book, playing games and spending time with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess you could say that I was born into the church, meaning that both my parents were already active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. However, this does not mean that I was born with a testimony of the Church. I grew up going to activities, going to sunday meetings and it felt really good, and it was nice, but I didn't know for myself if it was true. So I decided that if I was going to be a member, I wanted to know for myself if it was true and so I asked the only person who would really know. I asked my Heavenly Father, and he answered my prayer. So ever since then, I've strived to do my best to do the right thing, and I have been extremely blessed for it. It says in John 7:17 "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself". I know that this is the right thing to do both because my Heavenly Father answered my prayer, but also because as I practice His teachings I feel and see how they are true, and how they bless my life.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live the gospel in my day-to-day life. Studying the scriptures, conversing with my Heavenly Father, applying His teachings in my everyday life and treating people like Heavenly Father would want them to be treated are some of the ways I live my faith. Where I live I work with some of the missionaries in their efforts to talk to people and teach them about what we believe. Once I have been able to feel the blessings and happiness that this message has brought into my life, it has made me want to share it with others. Also, this summer I got back from my mission. I served for 24 months in midwest Brazil sharing this wonderful message with the people that live there. I came to love those people, and to love to see the changes that this message was able to make in their lives.
