Hi I'm Brenon

I love sports, music, and being a mormon!

About Me

I am Brenon Severe. I absolutely love singing, playing sports, and spending time with my family! My Family is very musically talented so I grew up around music all the time. I played the piano, the violin, ukulele, and of course, my voice! I took 4 years of choir classes. I was involved in a mens quartet in high school which was a blast!!! I love playing sports, especially basketball. I love hanging out with my family! They mean a lot to me! I enjoying spending every second with my sister and brothers. We do a lot of fun, and crazy, things. We do our best to make life fun and enjoyable! I enjoy being a crazy and somewhat energetic kid when I have the chance. I am not afraid to be myself and I truly enjoy that. It makes me feel unique and it is fun to just be yourself! Don't let anyone stop you from doing so! I am currently serving an LDS mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Canada, Edmonton Mission. I absolutely love this mission and I am glad I am serving and giving up 2 years of my life to the Lord! There are times when it is a challenge, but the good outweighs the bad. I have grown so much personally because of this decision and I know that because of my mission, I will be a better person!

Why I am a Mormon

There is so much about this church. It is hard to remember everything and I am being honest. I know, however, that this is the true church. There is so much that is in it that there is no way that it is a hoax. This church has done so much for me in helping me become a better person. I have learned how to serve others better, how to become an effective leader, how to treat others with respect, and how to love one another. I continue to follow this gospel because it has given so much to me. This gospel has so much to offer to you, you just have to be willing to accept it. My family is very loving and it makes me happy to know that there is always someone looking down on me and watching over me. It is good to know that whenever something happens, I can be forgiven of something that I shouldn't have done. I am glad to know that there is always someone around that knows what I know, believes what I believe, and loves me as much as anyone else. I love this gospel and I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have done quite a bit of participation in my church. I have attended many congregations for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints lately. In every one, I have given all that I have to help others as well as help myself improve. I have been many youth leaders including multiple presidency callings. I have also been called as a teacher for classes and a musical conductor for other meetings. But most of all, I have become a member of this gospel, of this church, and that has provided me with the most joy, the most fun, and the most blessings and gifts out of them all. Serving others is one of the greatest things that this church does. I love serving others and helping others out with what they are struggling with. I like to help in whatever way possible. I love to see the smiles on peoples faces after we have helped them with what they struggled with! Not only am I helping someone else, but it brings me help in my life. If I ever stand in need of help, I know someone is there to help. Every time I serve, I feel so much better, even if I was having a bad day. All in all, I live my faith by following the example of Jesus Christ. He is my ultimate role model and he has done so much for me, it is hard to even imagine. I owe him everything I have and I want to continuously follow in his footsteps.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Mormon temples are houses of God. They are the most important buildings on this earth. In 1 Chronicles 28: 1-6, Solomon was directed by the Lord to build a temple so that God could dwell on earth, so we have a house for prayer, a place of sacrifice and a place where the principle and covenant of sacrifice was fundamental to worship. When the church was restored to the earth, The Lord asked Joseph Smith to build temples on the earth. Today's temples are like the ancient temples. We may not offer animal sacrifices anymore because that was done away with when Jesus Christ became the Eternal Sacrifice for our sins, but the principle and covenant of sacrifice is fundamental to our temple worship. Members of the Church participate in many ordinances that are used to help them return to God and to bring families closer together. Members learn eternal truths, recieve sacred ordinances, provide ordinances for those who died without the ability to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes we are Christians. We base our gospel around Christ and his teachings. We accept Christ as our Leader, King, and Savior. He is the living son of the living God. Because of his sacrifice to atone for our sins, we can have eternal life. The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ and is another witness of the Bible, His life, his divinity, and his Atonement Show more Show less
