Hi I'm Cindy

I live in western Colorado, where I work as a librarian in an elementary school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, mom and grandma. I LOVE to read, crochet baby afghans for family, friends and co-workers who are expecting, read, play with my dogs, and read! Music is also an important part of my life; I can be caught singing just about anywhere, such as home, work or all by myself in the car! I graduated from high school and attended college for a year and a half before starting my family. I managed to stay at home and raise my kids while they were young, and started working for the public school systems when the youngest began attending school. I am currently a librarian at an elementary school, which combines my love of books with my love of kids!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to this church. In high school I began to feel strongly that there should be more for me to do as I worked toward my salvation. I also noticed that many of my friends were Mormons, and I was curious as to why I seemed to have so much in common with them. My boyfriend happened to be one of these people, and the time I spent with him and my other LDS comrades was the beginning of my conversion. I felt strongly then, and do so even more now, that we are here on earth to work for our exaltation. I believe in God as a loving Father in Heaven, and that His son, Jesus Christ, came to earth to provide the perfect example for us to follow. Our Savior's teachings in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon give us the instruction we need to lead happy lives and prepare us for heaven.

How I live my faith

When I was a new member of this church, one of my first assignments, or "callings", was the music leader for the young children during their Sunday School classes. It was a perfect way for me to learn about the simple truths of this gospel, and to have those young, sweet spirits as my instructors! Since then I have served in many different areas, working with those young people, the teenage girls, and in the women's service organization. Right now my calling consists of training the new leaders of the children's classes, and also the leaders of our Cub Scout and Boy Scout units.
