Hi I'm Debbie

I am a mother, nurse and a dancer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of two children. I have lived in Utah most of my life with the exception of New Jersey and Colorado for short periods of my life. I recently went back to school and finish a life-long goal of getting my bachelor's degree. After five years, I not only finished one course of study, but returned to finish a second bachelor's degree in nursing. I love music and dancing. I was actually recently involved in an adult hip hop dance group and a flash mob. Both were on my bucket list.... well, maybe not the hip hop part, but it was dancing and that's what counts! I love spending time with my family. We are, what I consider, the best of friends. We also have two boxers that keep us active and enjoying life in Southern Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon Church, but don't think I haven't had to learn for myself why the Gospel of Jesus Christ is important to me. I can't think of a life-changing event in which I was converted, but rather many moments in my life which have made my commitment to the Church intensify. I continually am grateful for the blessings that I receive by being obedient and by choosing to live standards taught by Church leaders. I think others notice too the commitment I have made and the happiness it brings me. I am far from perfect. I do know however, that every effort I make to be a better person will bring me more happiness and satisfaction.

How I live my faith

I serve currently as Young Women President, this means I serve as an adult leader over young women ages 12-18. I am a leader of over forty Young Women. They are amazing people who make me want to be a better person. They have raised the bar high because they are such a strong and chosen generation, and to be their leader is truly humbling! We teach Sunday lessons that help the Young Women reach the goal of attending the temple and to better their lives both now and in the future. We also hold a week night activity on Tuesdays for the youth which helps them to build friendships, develop leadership skills, or just have fun in a setting where they can live Gospel Standards.
