Hi I'm Sophia

I grew up in Sweden. I love my family and my friends. I like sports, reading and music. I'm mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Sweden but I am now living in USA. I always loved to be with my family and friends. Sports has always been a big hobby to me, I love to compete and push myself. When I'm done here in the US I am going back to school ofcourse, I'm planning to be a teacher or a psychologist, time will tell. Life is so wonderful, I just try to enjoy it as much as I can!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church but I was less active for a couple of years. One day I woke up and really felt that I need to make a descision about the church once and for all, either I'm in or out. I then realized that I went to church a lot of years but never really gave it a chance since I didn't live according to it's teaching with a sincere heart. I made a deal with God to live according to all his commandents for a few months and if he didn't give me a clear answer that it was right for me I wouldn't care about it any more. It took me three day. Then i knew. It was so amazing, I have never felt an answer to a prayer like that before. Since then I've always known. But that doesn't mean life is easy, cause sometimes it's hard. But now at least I have the comfort of knowing that there is a God up there who loves me. A God with much greater understanding of everything that happens here on earth, a God with a bigger perspective and a greater knowledge of what I need to experience to develope and grow in the best way I can. I love this church, I know that Christ suffered for me as well for you. the atonement is a great thing and the only way for us to get back to our Heavenly Father. It is so amazing! We can learn so much by reading the scriptures and just test it's teachings. If we do this we can truly feel a change in our life, there are tons of blessings just waiting for us. The only thing we need to do is to show that we care enough to recieve them. I know that this church is true. That's why I'm a mormon.

How I live my faith

Back in Sweden I taught youth in our ward. It is truly amazing when you can see how the gospel can change peoples life. It really makes a difference to the better if you let it. I always try to serve the people around me and create a positive atmosphere where everyone can learn and grow. The more effort and time I put in to this gospel the happier and more sucessfull I become in every aspect of my life. It truly works, I have no doubt in my mind about that.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Baptism is essential for all of us if we want to be saved and live with God and Jesus Christ. Sadly there is people that did not have opportunity to hear about the gospel and it's joyful message. It can be because that they lived in a time when the gospel was not on earth, or for any other possible reason. We do believe though that God is a fair and loving god who wants all of his children to have the chance to either accept or decline the gospel. That is why we perform the sacred ordinance of baptism for our brothers and sisters that have already passed on. However, we do not force anyone to join the church or to partake of the gospel. The people we get baptized for have the same chance as we have down here on earth to either accept or decline the gospel, we just give them opportunity to do so. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

They have a beautiful message to share so it would be selfish of them not to proselyte! The main reason for mormon missionaries to proselyte is that they for themselves have a burning testimony about the Savior Jesus Christ and the restoration of His church and they can truly see the blessings in their own lives that comes from applying his teachings. Such a wonderful thing can't be hidden or be kept from the world, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the most precious gift you can ever give anyone so of course we want to share it with the rest of the world. Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

There is nothing secret that goes on in the mormon temples. The temples is a place where we make sacred covenants, or promises, with God. We all know that God will one day judge us according to our knowledge and understanding, so if we are not ready to make these covenants and always strive to honor them it is better for us not to know anything about them. Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We don't worship Joseph Smith or any other prophet that live in our modern days or of the times of old. We worship the Lord Jesus Christ and God. Prophets play an important role in God's way of communicating with his children and we are very greatful to have them. Joseph Smith in particular had a very important task from God to perform and that was to the restore the gospel of Jesus Christ and once again establish His church with proper authority here on earth. We appreciate everything he has done for us and we have a lot to learn from him and his example of faith and a lot of other christlike attributes, but we do not worship him. Show more Show less
