Hi I'm Angelo Gianisis

I was born in Greece. I am a hospital chef and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Angelo. I was born in Greece. My family moved here when I was five years old. I was raised in the United States. I have a brother , his name is Tommy and he is two years older me. I got a job in an Italian restaurant and I learned how to cook and became a chef. Now I work at the hospital in New Jersey as a chef.

Why I am a Mormon

I stopped going to church because I felt like it was wasting my time.My wish was to find a new church in this area. So, one day I decided, out of the blue, to pray to God. Since I stopped going to church I didn't know if praying to God would work; it never did before. But I prayed anyway. Then one day a stranger walked up to me and started talking to me about the Church of Jesus Christ. In the beginning I didn't know what to think about it. After one or two days passed, I thought about it and I realized that God had answered my prayer. I did pray for God to guide me to a church. I knew I had to look at this church and pray to know if it was the right church for me. I asked God to show me a sign if this is the right church for me. Wouldn’t you know it - God came through. As soon as I started reading the Book of Mormon and listening to the Sister missionaries about the gospel, I realized this church could be for me. At work I got a raise and promotion - I knew God was showing me signs and that this was an answer to my prayers. I knew this church was right for me. Good things were starting to happen to me for the first on in my life. Good things had never happened to me before. And the more I read the Book of Mormon, the more I believed in the truthfulness of this church and Joseph Smith. I agreed to be baptized. Then the doubts came. Maybe this was God showing me that this church wasn’t for me. I pray about it. I decided maybe I should go back to my old church. As I drove to my old church, wouldn’t you know it, God came through again. On a way to my old church I got pulled over by the police and got a ticket. I knew God was answering my prayers. I made a U-turn and went back to my new church once again. God came through. It cost me $45 to realize that I was going to the wrong church. Every time I asked God to show me signs about whether The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the right church - he always come through. God was showing me the right church.

How I live my faith

My life has changed forever, for the better. I know the Book of Mormon is true and God is real. My best days at work are the days when I pray to God before I leave. The days I forget to pray are my worst. So now I know what I have to do. God is real. Even my finances came together for some reason and I know it’s God's work because before when I was paid, my money would go fast. Now I get paid, I pay tithing, and I have enough to pay all my bills and I still have money left over. God is there. I feel that God gave me direction in my life. I never felt like this before. Thank you God for this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It's so nice to be a Mormon. And I know God loves me because he has changed my life forever.
