Hi I'm Mattie

I'm a Mormon. I am writing a book, a story to help people with problems with friends.

About Me

Hi, I am Mattie. I go to middle school. I am writing a book, about a trial I have recently went through. Just about a week ago was a year since my grandfather died from pancreatic cancer. He had a tumor in his pancreas. He was a fighter, most people with this kind of cancer die within a month of being diagnosed, he lasted over a year. My grandfather was awesome. The only thing that he could've done to make me look up to him even more was to accept the gospel. He was a Lutheran, but he was strong in Christ and Heavenly Father. We are preparing to do his work right now. I also sing and act. I am proud 2b LDS.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a Mormon. Well, since I was 4 months old. I have been going to His church. I don't know why people think that we are bad, we are the most righteous people somebody can meet. The friends I have made at church are some of the best things that you could ever meet. They encourage your faith, and help you through struggles. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am second counselor in the class presidency for the young women. I read my scriptures and pray everyday and live my standards. I have good wholesome friends, (which happen to be mostly boys, they tend to be more loyal and I don't know why). They don't really care if I am Mormon or not, they just don't really pay attention to it, they don't say anything about it. I love my calling, and it helps me gain and keep my testimony and faith.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mattie
Yes, actually one of the Articles of Faith is "We believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, we also believe the Bible is the word of God as long as it is translated correctly." Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Mattie
The missionaries will probably give you a Book of Mormon, and teach you a lesson. The lesson will consist of things (if you are Christian) you already know. The lesson will most likely be the topic of Jesus Christ, God, and the Atonement. Missionaries work by the promptings of the Spirit. They will teach you if the Spirit tells them you are ready to hear the Gospel. If they don't get to the Book of Mormon quickly do not shy away, they will not stop seeing you if you don't stop seeing them. in fact they will come back even if you stop seeing them . Just hold on, you will truly be blessed by the missionaries. Show more Show less
