Hi I'm Jake Gittins

I love to act, sing, and play soccer (Football). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm ninteen at the moment and serving a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I grew up in Utah. I enjoy playing soccer, and american football. I'm not the greatest at the sports so I enjoy acting as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been surrounded by mormons since birth and became one at eight years old. I grew up in the church, learned everything about it as a young child, but I didn't become a true convert to the church til I was in high school. I was going through some hard times and I took the time to sit down read the book of mormon and ask God if that was were my life should be going. I felt his peace and comfort and new it was true and have enjoyed my life as a member ever since.

How I live my faith

Before I left on my mission for the church, I was teaching the younger children, my little sister as well. At the moment I'm trying to serve all people, by bringing the message of the gospel into their lives and hopefully bringing them closer to Christ.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Jake Gittins
Of course not, we are raised and told to help all people. If we helped mormons alone than we wouldn't be acting in the things we've been taught. Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Jake Gittins
I think of this like school, if I were to be given a test by my teacher, then another student came in, graded all the tests, and told me I had gotten an A, it would mean nothing, not because the student doesn't know the answers, but because he has not been given the authority to grade that test. Like that test God has given permission to prophets to administer the power of the priesthood, and without that authority the ordinances don't hold any weight. Show more Show less
