Hi I'm Courtney

I'm a student, a teacher, a daughter, a friend and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am spontaneous, quirky and loving. In my life, the glass is always half full. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Elementary Education and I work part-time at a bakery. I enjoy being active and staying outdoors. I love working with people and my biggest fear is being alone. I love Hockey, Field-Hockey, Basketball and most of all Rugby.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the Presbyterian faith to have "a knowledge of God" and gave me the opportunity to "choose what was best for me." It wasn't until I was walking through the Sacred Grove in the pouring rain that I realized I needed to be baptized and I could no longer deny the warm feelings I felt in the cold rain. I was baptized November 15th 2008. My conversion was a very personal process and evolved as I worked to develop a relationship with my Heavenly Father and an understanding of Jesus Christ's sacrifice and love for me. The first time I went to church was for President Hinckley's funeral. I was touched by the amount of love that people had for this man. I didn't understand it at the time but he was an amazing Prophet and his actions helped shape the world. I am the direct product of member missionary work. I was invited to activities and then to Sunday meetings at church by a friend who continually led by example. I know that living the Gospel is the sure path to happiness. Jesus Christ is the ultimate example who loves me very much as an individual. I am grateful to have the prophet Thomas S. Monson as a modern day revelator. I know that the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

After baptism, I was blessed to be called to work with the young children, where I learned so much about the gospel. I am currently a member of a Young Single Adult (YSA) branch where I attend as many activities as possible. I am now called to live by the motto "Charity Never Faileth". I do so by being the best possible example that I can. I am a friend and I try to provide relief (Spiritual & Temporal) whenever and where ever possible. I do all of this because I love being close to my elder brother, Jesus Christ through service.
