Hi I'm Jens

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mechanical Engineering student in college. I love building things with my hands and flying! My dream is to one day work for an aerospace company and work to revolutionize the world through flight. I also love being outside, hiking, camping, canyoneering, picnicking, kayaking, skiing. You name it, its a blast. I work for a company doing video production part time and really enjoy it even though it has nothing to do with my major. I speak Thai, and I think life is a crazy adventure!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know without a doubt that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has the complete gospel of Jesus Christ. I always knew that the christianity was a good thing, and I liked that. Going to church was fun because I had friends. When I graduated High School I moved away from home for a summer sales job. I was on my own and living the gospel of Jesus Christ took a backseat in my life. Towards the end of the summer I realized I had done a lot of fun thing but I was not really happy, I felt lost. I was missing something in my life. I wondered if it had been the church I had grown up with that I was missing, or if it was something else. So I decide to experiment and see. I began by praying and studying some scriptures, not much happened. I decided to give it two weeks of attending church, praying, reading, and living like I knew I should. As the weeks passed my life changed and I began to just know it as right. I knelt by my bed one night and told my Father in Heaven that I now knew, I then began to ask for his forgiveness for my many mistakes, forgiveness that I know now can come to each of us because the sweet atonement of Jesus Christ, if we choose to use it. In that prayer an amazing warmth enveloped me, a quiet feeling of peace and love. I knew My Father in Heaven had heard my prayer and he loved me. I later prayed about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith, asking if was true, if this, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint, was the true church of God. I was answered with a gentle but strong feeling of peace. As I have lived faithfully to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ my life has become better and better every day. I receive answers to my prayers and conformation daily that this the truth! I grew up in the church but I did not believe truly, until I began to honestly live it and sincerely look to God for answers. I know that this is for you! Because you are a child of God and He loves you! I live because I love it!

How I live my faith

I have always been active in my church ever since I was little, to me its home. I love the opportunities it has provided to work together to help and serve everyone. From being asked to teach in church, to leading a group of teens to help a neighbor widow do her yard. I even had the opportunity to live in Thailand for two years as a service volunteer with the church. That was fun, learning the language, teaching people, providing aid during a terrible flood, and even helping to plant and harvest rice! Christ teaches that we should love and serve one another, I have found that when we forget ourselves to reach out and help others that is when we are truly happiest!

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Jens
The scriptures tell us that "all things denote there is a God." In my own life I have noticed that it is really easy to miss God in our day to day lives, unless we are looking. He is there trying to help every day. As I have sought my Father in Heaver in my life, he has made him self known to me. Blessing and comforting me. Another scripture I love shares with us that "every good thing comes from God". I know that this is true, often we miss his hand in our lives because he frequently uses people around us to answer our prayers. I have had many a prayer answered through the kind actions of others. Science may claim there is no God, but they also use to say we could not fly. In reality Science does not contradict God but is a stepping stone in helping us understand him. We can not dismiss God because we do not see or completely understand him. We just need to step out in nature and enjoy to wonder, participate in a service project, or even experience the birth of a living being, to "feel" that we are part of something bigger. Those instances are when we can feel our place in our Father's eternal plan for us. He loves us more than we can understand, just start looking, every good thing to come into your life is from him. He will make Himself manifest to every one who is honestly seeking. Take a minute to stop and count the blessings in your busy life, for therein is God. Show more Show less
