Hi I'm Sheri

I joined the Mormon faith 35 years ago in California where I grew up. I continue to feel happy and very blessed to be a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a single mother of three grown sons, and a grandma of two sweet little girls. I joined the Mormon Church when I was 21 years old. I had one son at the time who was just nine months old. When my youngest son started kindergarten, I started college. I later graduated when my son graduated High School. I am now a social worker working to help children and families who are struggling. I love helping others! I also love photography, gardening, decorating my house, digital scrapbooking, traveling, going to the mountains, listening to music, and doing genealogy. I currently have over 10,000 people in my family tree.

Why I am a Mormon

As a little girl, I attended another church each week with my precious grandma. Through her example, she helped me develop a love and need for my Savior, Jesus Christ. Because those memories were so special to me, and because I learned to have such a deep desire to want to know all I could about Jesus, when I grew up, I wanted to learn more about Him so I could live with Him again. When I grew up, some missionaries taught me more about Jesus Christ and that there was a prophet on the earth today. They also taught me that families could be forever, and that temples were for the purpose of creating eternal families. Because of the love I already had for my Savior, I wanted to learn all I could about Him. It was wonderful to learn new things about Him. I'm so glad I listened to what was offered, because my life is better because of what I learned. Knowing that my family can be eternal brings me more happiness and comfort than words can ever express!

How I live my faith

I love helping others and doing things that help others be happy and have a smile in their hearts and on their faces. Currently, I help out in my church library every Sunday. It is so especially fun to see the little kids come to the library to get some pictures of Jesus, the prophets, temples, or some scriptures to take to class with them. Their little faces and smiles are so sweet and fun, because they are so eager to please and to learn about Jesus. They help me remember things Jesus has said about little children and to become more like them and Him...innocent, forgiving, and loving. So, although I am far from perfect, make many mistakes, and have many daily struggles of my own, I live each day remembering my Savior loves me and gave His life for me. And after all these years, I continue to want to learn all I can about Him. I still need Him. I know that when life gets hard, He is there for me.
