Hi I'm Christine!

I love to travel. I'm American, Peruvian and Japanese. According to my companion I'm "freaking AWESOME". And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The first question that people normally ask me is, "Where are you from?" I absolutely dread having to answer this question! The reason is because I have lived in multiple states including: Utah, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Virginia, Idaho, Chicago and now New York. It definitely hasn't been easy to move a lot but it has allowed me to open my eyes and has given me a broader perspective of what the world is really like. It has also allowed me to make LOTS of friends! I love my friends and don't know where I would be without them! They definitely make my life a lot easier....I don't know if they can say the same about me. :) I love to travel and it is my dream to travel the world. I have had the opportunity thus far to visit: Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Tortola, the Bahamas, Peru, Turkey and Greece. I hope that list will increase in the future, preferably the NEAR future! I absolutely think that the world is an amazing place! It is so fun to learn about other countries and their ways of life. I love my family and one of our favorite things to do is go out to the movies. I love the movies! I love to laugh and I try to find joy in everything that I do. I enjoy tennis, painting my finger nails, coloring, drawing, and cooking my favorite Peruvian dish. Right now I am serving a mission in the New York Utica Mission and I love being here. My companion and I try to stay optimistic in all things and we find the joy in our service!

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents are converts to the church. My father joined the church when he was 14 and my mother joined at the age of 9. They have been great examples to me of how to live the gospel. They both served missions and were able to influence the lives of so many other people. They taught me about Jesus Christ from a young age and because of this knowledge I have never felt like I am alone. As I have grown, having the foundation that my parents set forth, I have come know that this gospel is true and that there is no possible way that I could deny it. I have come to know in a very real sense that Jesus Christ is my Savior and loves each and every one of us. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it can help us live our trialing mortal lives and that if we but follow our Savior Jesus Christ we will be able to live with our families for eternity. I am so grateful to have the gospel in my life! What a difference it has made! I would be lost without this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I simply live my faith by trying to be a good example and trying to serve everyone around me. Right now I am following the example of my parents and serving a full time mission here in New York. I love the experiences that I am having. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything in the world! Even though some days are hard they are opportunities for me to grow and I have enjoyed all that I have learned! I also live my faith by applying the Atonement into my life. It is an amazing gift that we have the opportunity to be cleansed from our mistakes because I know that I am not a perfect person! But all we can do is try to do our best and when we stumble the Savior is there to pick us up. I try to improve every day and in every way!
