Hi I'm Scott Sorensen

I'm a father of 3. I have a beautiful wife. I spend my days helping people hear better. I love my life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 3 kids. I love most any sport. My personal hobbies right now are golfing and wake boarding. As a family we spend a lot of time together on walks, playing basketball, baseball, football or any sport my son is currently watching on TV. I have chosen to be a Hearing Instrument Specialist for my career. It's very challenging trying to understand how to help people hear better and managing their expectations with what I can do. But almost daily I get hugs from people for giving them back the gift of hearing. I love it! For me, I have realized my life is greatly blessed when I surround myself with amazing people. I have great friends who make me happy, great co-workers who challenge me, a beautiful wife who loves me fiercely, and kids who always make me laugh and entertain me.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in Utah where there are a lot of Mormons around it's easy to find a comfortable place to live the Gospel half-heartedly. I realized in High School that Christ does not just care for me when it's convenient for him or when things are easy and going well. He loves me always and intimately. I realized I had to try to do the same. I was lucky to already have what so many people have been looking for- the answers to all of life's most challenging questions; where did I come from? why am i here? where am I going? Who is God? Who is Jesus Christ? How do I live the most successful and happy life I can? Why do bad things happen to good people? Why is life so hard sometimes? And many others. I served an LDS mission to Detroit, Michigan and it became obvious where happiness comes from. Since my mission I have married in the Temple so my wife and I can be married forever. That perspective is huge for us because we are committed forever. Any crazy situation that this life has thrown at us we can overcome together and find peace and joy in those difficulties because we know this life is only a small part of a much greater plan that God has for us. Being LDS has given me the simple answers as to how to come to Christ and feel his love for me daily. I feel more confident, more loving, more patient, more forgiving, more peace because of the knowledge and experiences i've had with my Savior. That foundation brings tremendous fulfillment and happiness!

How I live my faith

To me, living my faith is all about connecting with people and connecting with Christ. The church has always provided ways for me to do that. It was in high school where I really found out where truth comes from. I read the Book of Mormon for the first time and I gained a motivating testimony of the truthfulness of that book. Ever since I have realized one of the greatest advantages in life is knowing the scriptures because they have all the answers to life's questions. Through the scriptures I have learned that this life is all about turning negative situations in to positive ones. And the only way to do that is through Christ's Atonement. For my family, we try to serve in the community as much as possible. My wife and I want our kids to learn early that all people are God's children and are worthy of, and deserve to feel his love. So for me it's all about connecting with my fellow man and connecting with Christ in any way possible.
