Hi I'm Chandra (Ullery) Baker

I'm a 25 yr old, mom/wife/nursing student/EMT-B. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 2yrs, not in the temple yet. I have been in college for 7yrs now. I have a one year old son and a 4yr old step son (that does not live with us currently). Even though I am going to school to be a nurse I want to be a stay at home mom some day. My hobbies, when I have time, are reading, geaneology, being outdoors, doing puzzles, having fun with friends and family, playing games/sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter-day Saint because parents grew up members and got divorced when I was 4 and became in active, but my Grandma took me to church as a child. I decided to get baptised when I was 11. When I was 12 someone called me a hypocrit and from then on I have tried not to miss church on Sunday. Mormonism was not practiced or taught in my home as a child. I gained my testimony by going to church and listening to the speakers and feeling the spirit and then going home and acting on that feeling, trying to follow whatever I was taught. When I would follow the teachings at home I would feel the spirit again, this is how I know the church is the church of God. I know that Heavenly Father loves me because he takes care of me even when I am not living the gospel as well as I should. I know there is a prophet and apostles on this earth that speak today because the Holy Ghost testifies it to me everytime they speak. I believe in the power of the priesthood, becuase I have had blessings by the laying on of hands. I know the Book of Mormon is one of the many words of God because I have read it, and again, I felt the Holy Ghost. Feeling the spirit of God is the best feeling in the world. I know the church is guided by Heavenly Father because every weak the lessons relate to a problem I am having in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying everyday to do what the prophets and scriptures teach. And if I fail I try again the next day. I try to pray and read my scriptures daily. I try to go to church every Sunday. I try to share my testimony of the gospel when others ask questions. I try to treat others how I would want to be treated. I have been called to teach the women in my ward ages 18 and older once a month. I taught the children ages 8-11 for a year. I live my faith the same way that I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the restored gospel, by feeling the spirit and testing out the teaching in my everday life and feeling the spirit again.
