Hi I'm Jacob

I am a full time student. I'm from California. I lived in Argentina. I am a Jack of all Trades and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time student, studying English Creative Writing. I work as an assistant project manager developing online curriculum, aka online classes. Being one of seven children I learned a lot about family as a child and cannot wait to begin a family of my own. I love games of all types, board games, card games, computer games, etc. I love being able to help others, particularly if it involves cooking for them. I enjoy baking bread and experimenting with my seasonings. That being said, many nights I love to just read. Books are a way to explore new worlds and experience new things. I enjoy being on stage whether it is acting or singing or public debates.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, but that does not mean I am a blind follower of the church. It is necessary for everyone to receive their own witness of the truthfulness of the gospel and to come to understand that they are children of a loving Father in Heaven. I came to know for myself that the church is true through living the gospel in my day to day life, reading the scriptures, giving of my time at service projects and praying. Prayer is really the key to why I am a Mormon. I have come to understand that I am a child of God and that He listens to my prayers. I have received answers to my prayers through scripture study and often through other people. These answers are why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be better each and every day. I teach the young adults in Sunday school. I always take the time to answer people's questions about the church because it is such a huge part of who I am that I can't not take the time to answer. I also take the time to listen to others and try to lift their burdens, because that is what the Savior did. He took time to help all those in his path that accepted his help. While I am not perfect I know that through the Lord's assistance I can become perfect if only I try to improve each day.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Jacob
There are so many things that tell me there is a God. First is the sunrises and sunsets. That so many tiny factors contribute to creating such beauty lead me to believe that there is a God who organized and created the world. Secondly, everything else about the world. That mountains have risen and trees grow and the seas have daily tides and birds knowing where to migrate to and so many others. With all those millions of lives interacting and growing and changing there has to be someone watching over it all. In my prayers I have sought to know God and his son Jesus Christ. As I have I felt their love and still feel it to this day. Heavenly Father has always listened to my prayers and lead me to the answers. This is why I believe there is a God, because I see his hand in my life. Show more Show less
