Hi I'm Annemarie

Hi, I am a RN and own a healing practice. I am a wife and homeschooling mom of 5 and grew up in the Netherlands.

About Me

I love life. I truly do. I constantly seek for new opportunities to enrich my life or my family's life. My happiest times are centered around my family and creating my business. I love being a nurse and helping others solve problems in their lives, whether physical or emotional. My deepest passion is evident in my daily work. I combine teaching my kids at home and have my own business, combining herbal medicine, traditional nursing and energy work.

Why I am a Mormon

What would my life be without it? Becoming a mormon has changed my life - for the better and forever. I came to the United States when I was in my early twenties. The journey was exciting and filled with opportunities- yet something was missing. Some missionaries knocked on my door and left me a little card and an invitation to come to the visitor center of the DC temple. A year later I finally did. As I looked upon the temple at that visitor's center, I knew I had to find out what felt so special about that building. I knew I had to find out if there was truth. Missionaries came and asked me if they could come back and share more. I had to think about it; was I ready to give this a chance and possibly change my whole life? I knew however that this was something too precious to let go. So the answer was yes. That was almost 19 years ago. I have lived a life full of opportunities and challenges that I am not sure I could have faced without the continued support of this church. Miracles have happened. A daughter who choked on an apple at 1 year of age and was not expected to survive,or at least have brain damage, is now 15 - a star dancer and an excellent student. A son was born - with Trisomy 18- living for only four days with us on this earth. A precious eternal son, to be greeted by me once again in only a little while. Five beautiful children, all with their own unique personalities. My faith in Jesus Christ has carried us as a family. From small steps every day like scripture reading and family evenings together to big things like being the in the Nauvoo pageant - an outdoor theatre in the heart of Illinois. From tears shed over past hurts to triumphant experiences knowing the Son of God can conquer it all. Life has been good and brought many, many miracles on this path of being a mormon. Yea, I love being a mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day of my life by giving completely of myself. I love service. I currently give service at a medical clinic that serves those individuals who can not afford regular health care. The clinic provides countless services and care to those who desperately need it. Many dedicated health care professionals give of their time every single day at that clinic. I also am involved in Guiding Eyes, an organization that helps to train dogs for the visual impaired. The dog I recently raised is now a breeding dog and ready to give birth to a litter of 7 pups. In my church, I organize the Children's program. Every Sunday we teach lessons and songs to all the children who come to our church building ages 18 months to 12. I love being with those kids every Sunday. Their love for Jesus Christ is so simple and pure. They love to play, to sing, to learn. I often feel very priviliged to share their world for just a brief moment on Sundays and during our Wednesday evening activities. Wednesdays are filled with scouting activities, games, lessons, learning new skills and playing basketball!

What is the First Vision?

The first vision occurred at a beautiful time in history. When so many people were wondering which church to join, Joseph Smith simply went to the woods and prayed. There he found his answer. The Father of us all and Jesus Christ appeared to him and told him not to join any of the existing churches. In time Joseph established the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Pure truth could once again be poured out upon the people of this earth. Show more Show less
