Hi I'm Joshua Sprague

I play tenor and bass trombone. I am a swimmer. I am a huge computer nerd. I am also a lifeguard. I love to read. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a nice and out going guy. I am currently serving the Washington, Tacoma Mission for two years. After my mission I plan on going to BYU Idaho to study computer science. I want to become a computer programmer in the security field or maybe something else in computers. I am a computer nerd, soccer player, a swimmer, lifeguard, I love to read fantasy books, I play the tenor and bass trombone for about seven years, and I love playing with kids. I just like hanging out and just having fun with people that I enjoy being around, making new friends, and being myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life. For the longest time I just went to church because my parents told me too. I did not really have a good testimony about the church for a long time. I just figured it must of been true if my parents are going. This continued for many years until I was about to become of age to go on a mission. I am the oldest son in my family so I was the first to leave on a mission. So I was pretty pressured to go on a mission not only from my parents and relatives, but also the ward I went to because my ward did not have a missionary go out on a mission for along time. So everyone was excited for me to go. No pressure right. I followed what on everyone else did when they wanted to get a testimony. That is to read the Book of Mormon myself and pray about if it is true. So I read the Book of Mormon everyday and I prayed about it every night. This continued for several months and I was about to leave on my mission soon. This is the part that I will never forget. I was reading the Book of Mormon and I just had this feeling to get on my knees and pray. I prayed with all the energy of my heart and asked if this church was true and then suddenly this huge wave of peace and happiness came over me and I could not help crying because I got that strong foundation of a testimony. I know with every fiber of my being that this church is true and it can bless other peoples lives if they just give it a chance and read the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to put the teachings of our savior into my life. I am realistic, we are all human and we do make mistakes. Even missionaries makes mistakes once in a while. I read the Book of Mormon everyday and I do my best to spread the word of the Gospel to everyone that I come in contact with and I do my best to testify to them how the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bless their lives and have that peace, joy, and happiness everyday for the rest of their lives. I try to be a good example to everyone that I am with and around. Having good language helps me become more confident with myself because it shows what type of good person I am and it shows people how friendly a person I am. I love the Savior so very much and I strive to become like Him everyday. I am not going to lie it is very hard to be like Him, but it is a very rewarding experience. I also try to set a good example to not only to my younger brothers, but to be a good example to the young men that I am around.
