Hi I'm Matt

I'm a missionary, athlete, guitarist, and a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up Moving all around the United States. I've lived in Denver, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Provo Utah, and then Detroit again. I graduated from High school in Kansas in 2010. I'm still trying to find out what I want to do with my life and have done a little bit of everything from Biotech research to underwriting in Insurance. I love playing sports, especially basketball, football, and rugby. I love music, and love just playing my guitars when I have the chance. currently I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was originally called to go to Berlin Germany for my mission, but knee surgeries from a sports injuries delayed me and so I also had the chance to serve as a Online Missionary for 4 months. I love the gospel, and won't let anything stop me from trying to share it's message with as many people as I can, not even 2 knee surgeries :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. It was what my family did and in turn what I did. as I got older and began to become more curious and learn for myself from the scriptures. to find out if this was really right and what I believed and was true. As I did this I discovered that I truly did have a testimony that this is Christ's church on the earth, that the Book of Mormon is true, and that we have a prophet who leads and guides us today. God loves us, and he has a plan for us. and everyone can learn about this plan, about Jesus Christ, about God, and about what we should do, by reading the Book of Mormon, and I encourage you to do that. To read the Book of Mormon yourself and find out if it really is the word of God, and to learn about these things for yourself

How I live my faith

I have had many calling in the Church, growing up I was always in some role of leadership in my youth groups and quorum president or one of the counselors. Then as I got older I have had the chance to be and Elders quorum instructor, then a executive secretary to a bishop and a branch president. as well as second counselor in an Elders quorum presidency at the same time. Currently I am serving as a missionary for the church, which is me volunteering 2 years of my life, giving up family, friends, schooling, and dating, to share the gospel and our beliefs with others. this is a complete volunteer mission. 9 weeks into my mission I had an accident where I severely injured one of my knees and found out I needed surgery on the other knee as well. I had every opportunity to give up, go home, and no one would have blamed me, I could have gone home gone back to school and go home to those I love, but I decided early on this is what I was going to do. give 2 years of my life to something I truly believe in. My faith means everything to me, and I'm willing to give everything I can to help others find out about why it is so important to me. So for 4 months I became an online missionary, working from a desk sharing the gospel over the Chat system on this website, getting around in a wheel chair, then on crutches, then a leg brace, until finally I could walk again and go to Germany. This gospel means everything in my life. It really does
