Hi I'm Cameron Conyers

I'm in college. I'm a psychology major. I'm black. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I'm working on finishing my undergraduate degree in Psychology, saving up and applying for a Master's Degree in School Counseling, and looking forward to my future. I hope to work at a college or high school as an academic counselor some day...within the next few years. I've had a life blessed with rich opportunities, and I hope to help other people achieve their goals. Although I'm applying to graduate schools for school counseling, I am also actually really into Pastry Arts and so I am trying to figure out how/when I can go to culinary art school and get my master's degree. Currently, I live on the western side of the United States for school and, although I completely miss the comforts of home on the east coast, I LOVE being out here. The people and atmosphere are wondrous.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the spirit that I feel when I go to church, church activities, and meet other members. It is a wonderful feeling to be apart of an amazing church where no matter where you live, the gospel is the same. I am a Mormon because I love knowing that I have a father in heaven who knows and loves me and watches out for me. I am a Mormon because with God,my church family, and my home family I am never alone.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I work with the little children who are 4-5 years of age and I LOVE it! Children are so innocent, kind, and humble. I've found that even though I was called to teach them-they are the ones who teach me.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Cameron Conyers
I remember wondering about this very question when I was younger and realizing the answer all around me. Our world is so beautiful and intricate. As I look around me I cannot help but marvel when I see even the smallest creature so perfectly made and given a specific purpose. As I look back on my life, I see God's hand in every single part. He has granted me peace in the midst of utter chaos, the ability to see true goodness in people amongst so much evil and confusion in the world, and love despite so much unkindness. I know without a doubt that there is a God. I know because I have felt Him with me throughout my entire life. I could never doubt His existence. If you look close enough into your past and far enough into your soul you will be able to see and feel His love. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Cameron Conyers
Being Mormon is wonderful! I honestly am so glad to have grown up with proper standards for dress, behavior, and family. Being a teenager can be extremely challenging and having such wonderful young men and women who dress nicely, use clean language, and have such close relationships with God really helped me through the challenging times. In terms of family, our church has outlined in our family proclamation the blessings that come from having loving families. I love having so many good examples of family around me all the time to show me that it can be done and two people can truly be in love forever. I wouldn't trade the joy I feel from being Mormon for anything in the world. Show more Show less
