Hi I'm Tanya

I grew up in Illinois. I am the oldest of 8 children. I am a sign language interpreter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of a little boy and a little girl. I am married to a wonderful man. I work for the local school district. I am a college student in pursuit of my masters in higher education. I lived in Italy for a couple months when I was in 7th grade. I have visited Germany and Austria. I play the flute.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because my parents are Mormon, but the reason why I am still Mormon is more complex than that. I am still Mormon because of the religion itself. I have found no other religion that matches what I believe. I also appreciate the people in this church. When you are down and in the worst place possible, there is always someone to pick you up and help you out. When I was in college, I had a period of time when I was truly struggling with my life. I was not living as I should and I was not happy. A man from my ward came and visited me every month, with his son, to check on me. He would remind me how much I was loved and missed. He was patient and kind. I am still Mormon because of people like him.

How I live my faith

I am in charge of creating the church program every Sunday. I also send letters every month to a list of women. In these letters I try to be encouraging and loving.
