Hi I'm Diane

I sew clothes for children, teach kids to sew and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I"m a mom to 5 great kids ages 15-32 and 1 sweet angel. I"m also grandmother to soon to be 15 grandkids. I started a business sewing custom made kids clothes and also teach sewing classes to kids and adults.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teenager my parents moved to an avocado grove which was pretty much in the middle of nowhere. One day my mom suggested that I find a church to join so that I could meet friends. An LDS church was being built across the street from my hgh school and there was just someting about this building that was attracting me. I wrote a letter to the missionaries in my area and one Saturday they called me and came to visit. I can remember while the missionaries were telling me the story of Joseph Smith's first vision the feeling came over me that I was very familiar with this story. Deep inside I knew what the missionaries were telling me was true and that I aleady knew the church was true. I was baptised a few months later and have never regretted it. I know my Heavenly Father knows me personally me and loves me. My family and I have been blessed tremendously by following the gospel. I have had heartaches with lost children, sick children and even divorce and it is through these hard times that I have drawn closer to my Heavenly Father and felt his love. I have would have to say that during those hard times that my testimony grew to the point that I know Jesus is the Christ and that my Heaveny Father loves me. I also know that Joseph Smith saw Jesus and Heavenly Faher in the grove and that he is a prophet and that Thomas Monson is our current prophet. I know that if I follow the prophet in his councels and obey the commandments I will be richly blessed in this life and the next.

How I live my faith

Most of my time in the church has been teaching the primary age children which was really fun. Those sweet spirits taught me more that I taught them. As I got older I also spent some time teachng in the Relief Society which is an organization for women of the church. I love the Relief Society and the love that is felt there. Presently I am the compassionate leader in our ward. When we have funerals I am responsible for providing food for a luncheon for the family which means calling on members to assist. Also provding compassionate service to anyone that is in need of help. Providing transportation, baby sitters, food brought in are just a few of the things that help to provide compassion for thoe around us. I remember the first funeral I helped in I was so touched by all the family members that would come up to me and those helping me and thanking us for all that we had done. People I never met were hugging me and telling me their stories it was a very rewarding feeling.
