Hi I'm Anthony
I am a project manager. I am a former concert security officer, body guard, and bouncer. I am a father and husband. I am a Mormon.
About Me
I am an information technology professional; project manager and network engineer. I am married and have 4 children ranging in age from 7 to 17. I am a proud Texan. My hobbies including reading, playing MMORPGs such as Star Wars: The Old Republic, Rift, and Star Trek Online; playing on the Xbox 360 with my wife and kids, community service. Even though I try to keep my life pretty simple these days, thanks to being a parent, I used to have a wilder more adventurous side. I was formerly a concert security officer/bouncer/body guard. In the late 90's and early 2000 I could be found, on any given night at a club checking ID's at the door or tossing someone out. Or, at a concert standing outside a dressing room door, escorting a performer, or manning the barricade. Or, dressed in plain clothes, trying to be discreet while escorting a performer in public. And, yes, I was armed.
Why I am a Mormon
Up until my junior high school year I was actually considering becoming a Catholic Priest. However, as a teenager I began to question my faith and religion. I started searching for truth in my faith. While searching I came to a realization; the purpose of all churches that I visited and all the clergy I spoke with was to save the individual soul. This didn't seem right to me. It seemed very selfish. I then also realized that none of them said anything about families in Heaven. I am Mormon because I now know that there is a plan for families being together forever. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church that I found that is all about saving the Family. Prior to becoming a member I read the Book of Mormon and I prayed. I prayed for the guidance of our Heavenly Father. I know the scriptures to be true. Having met President Gordon B Hinkley confirmed this. Within a few months of meeting him I was baptized.
How I live my faith
Being Mormon is not just a matter of Faith, it is a life style. I participate in community service with my Ward. I have helped organize a Community Emergency Response Team for my area with their help. Each of my children is active in youth activities which my wife and I support whole-heartedly.
