Hi I'm Elder Jaren Barlocker

I'm a Mormon, I grew up in Utah, and have lived here all my life. Now I am serving a two year mission in Arizona!

About Me

After graduating High School I worked to save up money to go on a Full-Time mission. After a few months out of school, I got called to serve two years in Arizona! I like hiking, camping, basketball, building websites, wood working, and being a magician! I also love serving others, and do so whenever I can - hence why I am on my mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born into an LDS family and have stayed that way! But once I read the Book of Mormon I really found a new love for the Lord and His gospel. Yeah I did rely on my parents testimony for a while, but it was a start. Now I am 100% sure of the truthfulness of this gospel! And I am going to live it till the day I die!

How I live my faith

Living a 'faith' is hard... There is so much that is expected of you, and so little time here on this earth to do it... A lot of people expect so much of you when you claim to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, it is kind of scary... But if you really do believe in Christ, it is all worth it... Faith is an action word. It requires something of you. So how then, do I live by my actions... The simplicity of the answer is in the tender teachings of Jesus Christ. He taught us to pray, to read the scriptures, to help others, and to do so many other small and simple things. And by doing those things each and everyday, I believe that's how you live your faith. That's how I live mine. I do my best to live as Christ would live, and stand up when I fall. We as humans are made to fall. We have a need to be saved... And through Jesus Christ that can happen, if we just start doing and continue to do the things he has asked us. I live my faith by being as good of an example as I can... Now I fall way short when it comes to that, but when I know something to be right, I do it! I live my faith by not taking other peoples ridicule... I live it by staying true to those around me and living up to my own expectations and goal I have set up by studying Christ's life... Living my faith is hard, I fail and I want to give in sometimes... But the only thing that is keeping me going, it the love I feel from My heavenly Father! He is there for us all...
